Purchasing Policy
The Hydralectric purchasing activity aims to achieve the best possible value at the lowest possible acquisition cost, working with all suppliers, where possible, to create relationships of mutual benefit and encourage joint investment in improving products, prices, quality and service.
This Policy commits Hydralectric and staff involved in Purchasing and Supply to use their best endeavours to ensure that our purchasing and contracting activities:
- Fully respect and comply with all applicable UK and European laws and regulations, directives and International treaties.
- Adhere to environmental, employment and health and safety regulations.
- Act in an ethically, environmentally and socially responsible manner.
- Are Accountable and auditable.
- Are Economically effective.
- Capable of identifying, minimising and managing risks that threaten the supply chain or the wider company.
- Source tested and approved materials from approved sources.
- Apply continuous improvement processes.
In addition, it is the objective of Hydralectric, as far as is within their power, to only employ suppliers and contractors who subscribe to and operate on similar principles.
Hydralectric assume a responsibility to their suppliers and should problems arise with a supplier’s performance or behaviour, Hydralectric will work with the supplier concerned to help them meet the requirements.
Hydralectric purchasing will be conducted such that any supplier that has the necessary abilities to be of service has a fair opportunity to secure the business.
