Helen Browne
Financial Controller
Helen joined Hydralectric in November 2011 and immediately assumed responsibility for corporate financial management. Previously Helen had worked for both Team McLaren and McLaren Marketing.
Although Hydralectric is a smaller organisation than McLaren her work in autonomous divisions enabled her to develop professional skills as an accounting generalist.
After graduating with an accounting honours degree Helen gained general work experience before Joining Grant Thornton and it was this work that enabled her to focus on career development. After Grant Thornton and before joining McLaren in 2007 Helen worked as an Assistant Management Accountant for a pharmaceutical company for two years.
Although she completed her final exams and qualified as a Management Accountant in 2009 Helen is far removed from the image some people may have of a boring one dimensional accountant. Helen is passionate about her career but also admits to being a bit of a “Petrol Head” - an interest she shares with her husband and partly fulfilled in 2011 when they both attended the Singapore Grand Prix.
Helen heads up a small team at Hydralectric ensuring robust financial management and at the same time providing current financial information to the senior management team to aid the corporate decision making progress.
